Frozen during merging

sometimes during merging I got:

Validating files: OK (200 files)                 
Mst-0: merging output objects ... \ (10 workers still sending)

and it remains fixed for hours! Why? Usually it happens when the ouput is large.

How big is the output ?
Can you try using submergers in such a case?

   proof->SetParameter("PROOF_UseMergers", 0)

the output is very big, about 100MB or more. I can try with submergers
