Error while making root 5.22 - xrootd configure issue

Hi all,
I’m trying to install root 5.22 from source on a linux machine.
I configured in this way:

Then I issued make and after a lot of work, it stopped:

Line 510 of ./net/xrootd/src/xrootd/configure.classic is:

Any idea of what’s wrong here?

Migrating to Ubuntu 8.04 solved the problem.
