Environment variable not working

Hi
I have edited the environment variable to root\bin but the root command is not working in cmd even though typing “root” in the directory root\bin opens root. What is wrong?

Call it ROOTSYS instead of ROOT, and then add (append) %ROOTSYS%\bin in your Path environment variable

In your particular case:

ROOTSYS=C:\Users\akasp\Downloads\root\
