Cling 1.1 release plans

If I understand it correctly, clang 1.1 will be based on Clang/LLVM 16. :gift:

That would be a major improvement since earlier versions of Clang/LLVM don’t support ranges introduced in C++20.

Do you have a road-map and/or approx release date by chance? Really looking forward to it. Thank you for all the good work.

BTW, as soon as it’s out I am planning to created native packages for Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04 and 24.04.

Dear Dimitry,

Thanks for reaching out. Let me add in the loop @vvassilev , lead cling developer.

Cheers,
Danilo

Hi Dimitry,

That’s a good question. We do not have concrete plans. We still have several tests that fail, and in principle we could release with them still broken but that’s not really a good practice.

@devajith, @hahnjo what do you think?

Best, Vassil

Thanks @vvassilev. I didn’t mean to rush or anything. Just curious.
