Intall root 5 and root 6

Can we install both root versions on linux and choose one of them while running a code? Because some codes run smoothly on one version and give errors on another version.

Honestly speaking, sooner or later, you will learn by hard that the policy of using a “system-provided” ROOT version (e.g. in “/usr/[bin|lib]” or “/usr/local/[bin|lib]”) is a dead end. BTW. If you can run the CVMFS client on your machine then you possibly do not need to do anything special, just use the binaries provided in: /cvmfs/sft.cern.ch/lcg/app/releases/ROOT/
