After installing root 6.12 on ubuntu 17, received an error regarding a missing file upon running root

Hi,

I’m just starting research with root and I ran into this error when I tried running root:

cling::DynamicLibraryManager::loadLibrary(): libtbb.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

So far the only things I have done is setting the environment variables with thisroot.sh and installing gcc.

I searched on the forums but it didn’t seem anyone else had posted anything about this, so I was wondering if there was a way to fix this and, if there wasn’t, whether there was some previous version of root I could use instead?

Hi,

how did you install ROOT?

Cheers,
D

You are missing a dependency of ROOT. Please try to run ROOT after running apt-get install libtbb-dev.

Thank you, it’s working now
