I am using ROOT Version 5.24/00b 11 October 2009 one one system and ROOT Version 5.34/09 26 June 2013 on another system. I am using the roofit command “sum_1.fitTo(data, SumW2Error(kTRUE));” to fit the data. I found very strange result. Can you please guide me why this happened or do you have any other suggestion. according to my thinking there is small bug in this function “SumW2Error(kTRUE))”.

You are trying to use extremely old / no longer supported releases.
For ROOT 5, try the current head of the v5-34-00-patches branch or try ROOT 6.
